The Sun ingressed into Cancer, the zodiac sign of The Crab, on June 22, 2026 at 4:25am EDT where it will remain until July 22 at 9:13pm EDT. The Sun enters Cancer at the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. The sign of Cancer is ruled by the Moon and its element is Water. The vibe is gentle, nurturing and sensitive. People easily pick up on this vibe so individuals who have a lot of Cancer placements in their natal charts naturally attract people who need help. They are especially gifted at healing. Animals sense this about them too. Think about a cat who shuns everyone who comes into the house except that one person whose lap she jumps into. That is what Cancer feels like. The archetype of Cancer is The Great Mother. These are the people who put their arms around you and let you cry on their shoulders. And you feel better. Loving kindness radiates from Cancer.

Cancer is the Latin word for Crab and thinking about how a crab operates and survives gets us closer to understanding this fourth sign of the Zodiac. You may have heard that Cancer people are

To me, and to lots of other people, the inside of a crab is pretty tasty. Seagull thinks so too. The crab has other predators, seals, otters and sharks! Without its shell the crab’s soft insides would be exposed and it could not survive. Protecting themselves is as necessary as the air they breathe. However, there are times in a crab’s life when it outgrows its shell and needs to find larger accommodations. The crab moves carefully, carefully into its new shell. The cover of darkness helps, with a little light from the Moon. Cancer’s sensitivity comes from an ability to

The crab is at home in its shell which is why Cancer correlates with home and family and your ancestral roots. Straying too far from home can make the crab a bit anxious. But in order to grow it has to take a risk. Maybe a career opportunity that will benefit your family presents itself. Plus, it’s your dream job. You will get paid more money for doing something that is well suited to your natural interests and talent. This job really appeals to you. The job you have now is boring, unfulfilling and barely pays the bills. You get excited thinking about how great it would be to spend your work day doing something you actually enjoy instead of watching the clock. The only excitement you experience is the end of your day as 5:00 rolls around. The catch? This dream job is across the country, 3,000 miles away. It means moving away from what is comfortable and familiar including your extended family. Your kids are upset about leaving their school and their friends. Your spouse tries to talk you out of it. Your parents who live two miles away aren’t getting any younger. It’s a tough and

Not so for the crab who has a hard time letting go of the past and who naturally puts the needs of other people before their own needs. It’s times like these when it helps Cancer to go inward and

. Getting away from all of the noise helps them tap into their intuition, focus on self-care and consider the bigger picture. Ultimately staying in a shell that is too small feels stifling and if you don’t take the job in California, you stay stuck in a soul-sucking job and your dissatisfaction infiltrates your entire life. The light goes out of you. Your spouse no longer feels connected to you and has an affair. Your kids treat you like you are invisible and the only relationship you have with your parents is driving them around to medical appointments where you sit reading old magazines in the waiting room not even talking to one another.

Yes, Cancer needs its defenses. Protecting themselves and others is not a negative trait. It’s understanding when it is necessary to move into a bigger shell.

When and where to you need to protect and defend yourself and others? When and where do you need to be vulnerable in order to grow? In our natal charts we all have some Cancer energy. It may be a main ingredient or a more nuanced flavor. Even if you don’t have any planets in Cancer is probably sits on the cusp of a house. And we all have a Moon in our charts. I can help you tap into the Cancer parts of yourself. Just contact me for a reading. Here are just a few examples:

The Sun sign of the USA is Cancer and it is placed in the seventh house. In the natal chart of a nation, the seventh house represents allies, foreign nations, open enemies and wars. The Natal chart of the USA has four planets residing in the seventh house. Mars in Gemini and The Sun, Venus and Jupiter in Cancer. This strong Cancer signature tells us something about the character of the United States. The signs of the zodiac indicate inner

We see a strong sense of patriotism; a love for one’s country. When the USA goes to war the motivation is to protect our homeland, uphold our rights and to defend the principles that we stand for and believe in. There is a desire to support our allies and to come to the aid of those in need of healing, sustenance and protection from “The Bad Guys”. In this way, we see the United States in a mothering role, nurturing those less fortunate than ourselves, who are powerless and who are suffering. The positive expression of Cancer is to extend loving kindness to all people. Mars in Gemini represents the influence of the media and also indicates that the United States has a strong and passionate voice in international affairs.

. The Moon of the USA lies in the third house of communication and that includes the media. As a country, the United States of America has something to say, and it is proclaimed loudly. The high value placed on freedom brings the USA together as a nation. We see the sense of patriotism through the Moon as well as through the Cancer placement because Aquarius rules groups of like-minded individuals who unite for a cause, for something bigger than themselves.

Another freedom loving sign is adventurous Sagittarius. Sagittarius represents the Rising Sign (or Ascendant) of the United States. In astrology, our Ascendant represents how we appear to others. It’s our social mask and is the placement that typically makes a first impression. The evolutionary intent of Sagittarius is to find meaning and purpose in life and that goal is accomplished is through the diversity of the population. When expressed well, The Sagittarian Ascendant of the USA realizes that the synergy created through embracing different cultures, religions and opinions makes us stronger and unites us as a nation.

The Sun ingressed into Gemini, The Twins on May 20, 2026 at 8:36pm EDT where it remains until June 21 at 4:25am EDT. The Gemini Twins are Castor and Pollux of Greek mythology. They are the Alpha and Beta stars in the constellation, both of them the brightest, first magnitude stars. Castor’s father was Zeus so he was immortal, while Pollux had a mortal father. When Pollux was killed, Castor asked Zeus to place their stars together in the heavens.

Who would you rather be? The immortal Castor or the mortal Pollux? Gemini, driven by curiosity asks questions. Gemini observes, always seeking new territory to explore. They move quickly, eager to experience as much of the world as they can.

Gemini’s element is Air. The other Air signs are Libra and Aquarius. Here’s some common ground:

None of them is symbolized by an animal. Of the twelve signs of the zodiac, seven are represented by animals. Aries the Ram and Leo the Lion (Fire element) Taurus the Bull and Capricorn the Goat (Earth element) and Cancer the Crab, Scorpio the Scorpion and Pisces the Fish (Water elements) The Air signs are Gemini the Twins, Libra the Scales and Aquarius the Water Bearer. (Aquarius is not a Water sign)

Thinking vs Feeling: Water signs are associated with emotions while Air signs are cognitive and identify more closely with thoughts, perception and information.

Air signs are interested in understanding themselves (Gemini), their relationships (Libra) and their world (Aquarius). They gather data, are objective and are less swayed by their emotions.

Since they share common ground, we can say Air signs are pretty friendly toward each other. But they are

Libra values partnership, while Aquarius prioritizes independence. Libra lessons have to do with discernment in relationship and building trust, while Aquarian lessons focus on individuality, freedom of expression and living life on your own terms. Relationship does not look the same for these two.

Gemini the Twins and Libra the Scales have duality in common. Two siblings, two sides of the scale; both signs are comfortable with dual perspectives. But they have their differences. Libra balances and seeks harmony while Gemini’s nature is restless and excitable. Both Gemini and Aquarius are interested in exploring new territory however the fixed nature of Aquarius can clash with open-minded Gemini.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the Messenger of the Gods. So is Virgo, an Earth sign that uses and analyzes data in a useful, practical way. Mercury shows up a bit differently in this Air sign. First, we start with the idea that Mercury is the fastest planet in our solar system. A year on Mercury equals 88 days on Earth. Gemini, like its ruler, is quick. It’s efficient and can assimilate a great deal of information, data and facts with greater ease than most people. They don’t get anxious about it all being in order. Having said that we all have the planet Mercury placed in one of the 12 signs of the zodiac. While it has a natural resonance with the two signs it rules, different signs give it a different lens. For example, Mercury in Sagittarius seeks knowledge based on experiences that are foreign (literally!) The

Communication is a Gemini keyword and it too has a dual nature, speaking and listening. Listening may not come as naturally to Gemini so they may need to cultivate this skill. Gemini asks question, being driven by insatiable

Gemini’s archetype are the Teacher and the Storyteller which is why they need to use their voices. They inspire us to ask questions, sparking a love of learning through their curiosity. Gemini can weave a tale, capturing an audience with their mastery over language. They expand our perception and create a sense of excitement and amazement. This is the reason that speaking feels more natural to them than listening. Think about the Geminis you know. My guess is most of them have better than average verbal skills. They have a way with words that draws us in, mesmerizing us.

Gemini is easily bored and if life becomes too dull or too routine, they find ways to re-invigorate by cutting loose anything that has become stale and predicable. That includes people too! One of my brothers is a Gemini and when we were kids, he used his sleight of hand to cheat at Monopoly and cards, not because he cared about winning but because playing the same games over and over grew tiresome. The tarot card that related to Gemini is the Magician. The Magician also correlates with how Gemini makes us think just like a wise teacher or the storyteller who ignites our imagination. Both of these archetypes open our minds to

The exact date and time the Sun exits one sign of the zodiac and enters the next zodiacal sign wiggles a bit from year to year. For example, I know a young woman born on July 22 who thought she was a Cancer Sun sign because “the dates” for Cancer are listed as June 21 through July 22. However, she was born on July 22

A man born on November 23 claimed Sagittarius as his Sun sign. However, he was born in the early hours of the morning, before the Sun entered Sagittarius giving him a Scorpio Sun sign.

I know two people, both born April 20, one is an Aries and one is a Taurus.

If you are born around the time the Sun is changing signs, you want to do a bit of homework to determine your actual Sun sign. There are many free online chart calculators. Check at least two of them to verify that the results match. Or better yet, contact me!

Forget anything you may have heard about being born “on the cusp”. The signs of the zodiac do not have cusps, only the houses (the twelve segments of astrological chart) have cusps. Being born on July 22 does not make you part Cancer, part Leo. If you are born when the Sun is in Leo you are a Leo Sun sign no matter how close you were to being born a Cancer.

I hope that explanation may have cleared up any common misconceptions about being born at the beginning or end of a sign. However, there is something quite special about being born during the first or last 24 hours of a any Sun sign. In Astrology, the zodiac is a 360 degree circle. Each of the twelve zodiacal signs covers 30 degrees. If you are born during the first 24 hours after the Sun changes sign your Sun is at 0 degrees and if you are born during the last 24 hours of that sign your Sun is at 29 degrees. These are known as the

Virgo wants to become skilled at something that is useful to others. I have found that the 0 degree of Virgo, while still analytical and detail oriented, is less likely to allow worry over perfection to derail their efforts. A sense of humor is usually present. They are well prepared and organized, and have much success in achieving their goals. Think steady and dependable rather than flashy.

These people are meant to achieve mastery over relationship. They have figured out the delicate balance of give and take. They are learning to value themselves as much as they value the relationship and may be tested on this lesson. Perhaps an early partnership with someone who is selfish or someone who wants to sweep issues under the rug. The 29 degree Libra is meant to confront issues to achieve real intimacy and not to over sacrifice for the sake of the relationship.

This is an extremely youthful placement. Curiosity is turned up to max volume. So are enthusiasm and the ability to be open minded. These individuals have quick minds and absorb information at the speed of light. Their minds can be overactive and it’s important for them to channel their nervous energy into physical activity to help them relax.

Passing along accumulated expertise and wisdom is the path for this placement. It evokes an image of a much learned professor, imparting a lifetime of knowledge to his/her students. The path is not smooth, but obstacles are met and overcome with perseverance and grit that is impressive.

Their appearance can be soft, even beautiful. Often, they find music soothing and enjoy peaceful surroundings, with plants and flowers around them.

Venus in Aquarius needs freedom in relationship. If their partner attempts to change them, tell them what to do or (heaven forbid!) is clingy, Venus in Aquarius runs like the wind. Life with them can be exciting and your personal freedom and individuality will be respected. At 29 degrees it’s go time! Your person is someone who accepts you, flaws and all. Your relationship may be unconventional in some way. In order to succeed you must release partnerships that are confining and make a real effort to be open and vulnerable.

This is a very potent placement for two reasons. Mars rules Aries and 0 degrees of Aries is the very first degree of the zodiac. Mars takes off running with passion and drive that is unsurpassed. Anger control is likely to cause conflict and navigating these stormy waters is a new lesson, like a child learning to play nicely in the sandbox. However, like a child, plunging unafraid into life is exhilarating.

Mars is also the traditional ruler of Scorpio. (Pluto is the modern ruler) Mars in Scorpio is more strategic, willing to take calculated risks. At 29 degrees of Scorpio, this placement is an invitation to confront and conquer that which is feared. The individual has to dig deep and confront some uncomfortable truths in order to do so. Honesty is key to success and these people can make excellent therapists.

at 9:30 PM EDT the Sun ingressed into Taurus. The constellation of Taurus, The Bull is large and prominent in the night sky from November through March (in the Northern Hemisphere) with several bright stars that can be seen by the naked eye. It is one of the most ancient constellations and has a rich and varied mythology among the Greeks, the Babylonians and the Egyptians to name a few.

Many festivals and celebrations take place when the Sun in in Taurus. The Wesak festival takes place during the full Moon to commemorate Buddha’s birthday, enlightenment and ascension. Beltane or May Day was observed in early May when spring was in full bloom. It was a celebration of fertility, the fertility of the Earth as well as human fertility. The survival of human beings depended on fertile land and procreation. Fertility rites were practiced to ensure that the spring planting would produce an abundant crop while couples were encouraged to produce children.

Taurus follows the urgency of Aries and allows us to calm down. We have survived and now we stand strong. While Aries belongs to the Fire Element, Taurus is an Earth sign, concerned with sensuality, all that is experienced and enjoyed through the five senses. Taurus is concerned with satisfying our physical appetites, like the pleasure we experience when we stop to smell the roses.

Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus, the Goddess of Beauty and Love. When we think about The Bull, Venus is not the first image that comes to mind. Many well-known astrologers have explained the connection between Taurus and Venus by having us think about the feminine cow, content to graze and rarely aggressive. Even a bull is calm most of the time, unless provoked. Taurus does have a temper, but it’s more of a slow burn. When it erupts, run for the hills

If you are a Taurus, you re-charge yourself by being in nature. For some of you that may mean the deep quiet of the woods, for others it’s a day at the beach. Whatever your pleasure, you are meant to experience the beauty of nature through all of your senses. You feel the breeze in your hair, are calmed by the sound of the waves, enjoy the warmth of the sun on your skin, the feel of the sand and the smell of the salty air. Because Taurus is an earthy sign it needs to be in natural surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of city life. If you are a Taurus Sun sign and live in an urban area you benefit from indulging in frequent get aways. Sitting quietly and soaking in the beauty of nature will help you feel grounded and centered. Often, we see an interest in gardening, in growing your own food, getting your hands in the earth. Taurus’ connection to nature extends to animals. Being around them brings a sense of peace. Instincts are strong in Taurus so they should trust their gut and pay attention to physical sensations that alert them when something is not right.

Each sign of the zodiac has its cautions and for Taurus, being flexible and adapting to change can be challenging. The Bull can be stubborn, set in its ways. Rigidity and an overattachment to a comfortable routine can get Taurus stuck in a rut. Taurus values material security and can end up paying too high a price for a peaceful life. For example, getting stuck in a mind numbing job that only pays the bills without offering a sense of accomplishment. Overaccumulation of possessions can offer a false sense of safety. Overindulging in food brings health problems. Staying in relationships that have become stale and stagnant causes discontent. Taurus benefits from consciously challenging themselves to try new things. Getting outside of their comfort zone counteracts feelings of being trapped. Periodically evaluating their habits and releasing those that have outlived their usefulness is a healthy routine for Taurus to adopt. That includes re-evaluating the people in their lives as well.

We can’t forget to talk about money. On Wall Street, the financial center of the world, we see The Bull of Wall Street, a large bronze statue that represents the Bull Market, a sign of economic prosperity and financial optimism when stock prices rise and investors get rich. Taurus is practical and seeks stability, including financial stability. However, Taurus can prioritize the purchase of items of comfort and luxury over saving for the future. I have seen Taurus go either way, from being cautious about their finances to splurging on the finer things in life. Taurus likes to indulge the senses. Either way, money is often a top concern. Having strong Taurus influences in the natal chart can give an individual a knack for banking and other financial careers. I myself have Mercury in Taurus and along with other compatible placements that correlate with my 40 year career at JP Morgan Chase in Expense Management.

If you are lucky enough to have a Taurus friend as I do, visiting them in their home is a treat. The surroundings are comfortable and the food is good. You feel pampered and appreciated. Indeed, The Bull is strong, loyal, protective and stands firm when life gets tough.

In Taurus, Venus appreciates life’s simple pleasures; enjoying a good meal, listening to music, massage, taking a walk or feeling soft cool sheets on the skin. Taurus enjoys comfort and luxury because the physical sensations simply feel good, like a sigh. Life gets pretty complicated and stressful and Taurus takes us back to the basics so that we can

. Taurus shows up for each of us. You may not have Taurus as your Sun sign but you may have another planet in Taurus and most likely Taurus rules one of your houses. For example, having the Moon in Taurus is a great placement as the Moon is exalted in that sign. The Moon represents our heart and our emotional nature. Maybe you have Taurus ruling your fourth house of home and family. If so, a comfortable home, maybe growing herbs or flowers and/or having a fur baby will help you to feel happy and content. To see how and where Taurus impacts you personally, consider a natal chart or year ahead reading.

During Taurus time enjoy the fullness of Spring and get out in nature. Plant a rose bush, grow some vegetables, take your dog to the park and snuggle up with your cat!

On March 20 at 10:46 am EDT the Sun ingressed (entered) into Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. This event marks the start of the astrological New Year. The Aries Point is the first degree of the 360 degree zodiac and occurs at the vernal equinox each year, when day and night are equal in length. It represents beginnings, initiations and a much anticipated reset as we say goodbye to Winter.

. The kitten begins life assertively claiming his share of milk from Mom. He pushes his brothers and sisters aside, and as they push back, the entire litter becomes stronger as they engage in healthy competition. Next, momma cat teaches her brood how to hunt. The kittens practice learning this behavior through play. Before long the poor baby bird who didn’t learn to fly becomes the cat’s prey. Survival is not always pretty. It can be harsh and those who learn to take care of themselves survive. Aries knows this. Often, survival depends upon being competitive. There are 2 dogs and only one bone. (Steven Forrest) Aries shows us where we need to stand our ground, be assertive and where we may encounter stressful circumstances that require us to act with courage. They understand that in order to have the strength to take care of others, they must first take care of themselves. Every pre-flight instruction reminds us to first put on our own oxygen mask before assisting others.

When we talk about any sign of the zodiac, its expression is not limited to the Sun sign alone. We all have Aries somewhere in our charts. Aries is ruled by the planet Mars. Mars brings energy, passion and a boost of adrenaline to help us function in times of stress. Understanding where Aries resides in your chart provides the insight needed to respond effectively, in a way that helps us grow strong and confident. For example, look at Mars in your chart to see the nature of your stress you are meant to face. Ares is the Greek god of war and Mars is the Roman god of war. Conflict is unavoidable. Our buttons will be pushed; we can lose our temper. Dealing with anger is one of Mars’ hardest lessons.

Aries is honest and unapologetically themselves, like children who say exactly what is on their minds. Sometimes endearing, sometimes annoying. And like children, they can be quite loud!

           When Aries goes wrong:

Face your fears or they will be sent to you. For example, you have a fear of flying and decide to drive 3,000 miles to your destination. During your road trip, a situation arises that makes you wish you had taken that flight! Whatever it is that you encounter will frighten you and test your courage. And it will be a whole lot scarier than a mere airplane flight. One way or another you are required to be brave. You can’t run away from it. Far better to choose to overcome a fear than to have a scary and stressful encounter thrust upon you.

A poor response to Aries can result in selfishness, folly, succumbing to fear, making enemies, uncontrolled temper, violence, unwilling to compromise, always wanting to get their own way, excessive use of force and bullying.

Even if we are not born under the Sun sign of Aries, the Warrior lies somewhere in our natal chart. We look to see the placement of Mars by sign and by house. Is your Mars in Gemini? You may defend yourself with words. In Scorpio, Mars seeks deep connections with others by being brave enough to tell the unvarnished truth. With Mars in the fourth house, we think of protection of home and family. The ninth house? The courage required to embark on an adventure through travel, cross-cultural experience or higher education.

The sign of Aries itself (unless intercepted) rules one of the twelve houses in your natal chart indicating where the action will take place. Does Aries rule your second house? If so, facing fear gives your self-esteem a boost. If Aries rules the eleventh house you may embrace a leadership role within a team or organization.

On February 18 at 10:52 am EST the Sun ingressed (entered) into Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac. The Sun stays in the sign of Pisces until the first day of spring. It’s the end of winter, and we start looking forward to spring, especially this year when so many of us have endured an extra cold and snowy winter.

sensitive and imaginative. We can begin to understand Pisces when we think of the vastness of the oceans into which our rivers flow. More than any other sign, Pisces relates deeply to others because it contains a little bit of every sign of the zodiac. It has also been referred to as the trashcan of the zodiac. While every sign has its challenges in equal measure, let’s start with the high ground.

Because Pisces tends to dissolve the ego, it understands that we transcend the physical world and are part of a higher state of consciousness. Pisces sees itself as an integral part of the tapestry of the cosmos. For these reasons Pisces is associated with spirituality and psychic ability. It is the sign of the visionary. By looking inward, its power of intuition creates the dreams that spark the vision.

The blending of energies gives Pisces a strong sense of

           empathy

. They easily put themselves in the shoes of another. If acting ability is otherwise indicated in the birth chart, these individuals can give an Oscar worthy performance. A really good movie touches us. We can escape from the routine and responsibilities of daily life and be carried away to another place and time. Movies can stir up any emotion; they make us laugh, cry, sit on the edge of our seats, applaud the hero – take your pick. That’s a face of Pisces, one that we need. Oscar season happens when the Sun is in Pisces.

Let’s dive a bit deeper. Pisces is ruled by two planets, Neptune the modern ruler and Jupiter the classical ruler. Neptune’s association with illusion, glamour, fantasy and creativity fits with the image of Hollywood. Stars walk the Red Carpet in all of their finery. Jupiter, the Roman King of the Gods has star power. He glitters and shines. I enjoy the spectacle, imagining myself in a breathtaking gown, dripping diamonds. But we begin to see the slippery slope if we get stuck in that fantasy. All that glitters is not gold – that’s Jupiter too. When we become beguiled with glamour, appearance and image we begin to lose our true identity. That’s the darker side of Pisces that can erode our ego. Not being able to see clearly, being in a fog, confusion – that’s Neptune too. When taken to extremes Pisces can go wrong just like any other sign.

If Pisces over identifies with the pain and suffering of other people the weight becomes too much to bear. It longs for an escape from reality. This is why a weak response to Pisces can lead to substance abuse, moving through life with no clear path, withdrawal, accomplishing nothing, being irresponsible.

Now let’s lighten up and talk about St. Patrick’s Day! The Irish people love folklore complete with Leprechauns (mischievous fairies), shamrocks, lucky four-leaf clovers, and a rainbow with a pot of gold at the end. St. Patty’s Day is celebrated with much revelry; parades, festivals and green beer! We see the Piscean signature of fantasy and imagination. St. Patrick’s story becomes a whimsical tale where reality becomes a little blurry. Some of those who celebrate become a little blurry themselves!

Let’s keep in mind the Piscean theme of

. St. Patrick’s Day is a Holy Day of Obligation for Roman Catholics in Ireland, meaning that Catholics are expected to attend Mass. It commemorates St. Patrick’s conversion of the pagan Irish to Christianity. However, most celebrations are secular and the Lenten restrictions on fasting and drinking alcohol are lifted on March 17

King Jupiter loves a party and Neptune (after piously attending the church service) brings the beer! You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning and in many Irish pubs the barstools are filled quite early in the morning! The custom of “drowning the shamrock” marks the end of the day’s celebrations by placing a shamrock at the bottom of a cup, filling it with whiskey or beer to drink a toast to St. Patrick.

With regard to empathy the haunting moving song “Danny Boy” comes to mind. My Dad loved this song so much he named one of my brothers Danny. The lyrics bring a tear to the eye as we relate to a father’s poignant farewell to his son going off to war. I’ll include the lyrics at the end of this post.

King Jupiter is responsible for the “Luck of the Irish”. He optimistic, jolly and adventurous. His quest is to find the end of the rainbow, joyfully claiming his pot of gold.

In closing, when we think of the spirit of the Irish people the following phrases come to mind, infused with the qualities of Pisces, Jupiter and Neptune.

An optimistic faith in life, in oneself and in community

I hope this post inspires you to embrace the magic of Pisces time!

Oh, Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone and all the roses falling
It's you, it's you must go and I must bide.

But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
And I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny Boy, oh, Danny Boy, I love you so.

But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying
If I am dead, as dead I well may be
Ye'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an Ave there for me.

And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me
And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be
For you will bend and tell me that you love me
And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me.

But come ye back when summer's in the meadow,
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow.
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow;
Oh Danny Boy, oh Danny Boy, I love you so.
